We went camping for Labor Day in Oregon

Aug. 30-Sept. 2

Labor Day road trip!

David and I packed up and headed to Corvallis, OR to go camping with his brother Joseph and his family.  I started out driving so David could do an interview from the car.  Little fact about why David always wants to drive...he gets car sick.  He barely made it through the call as I was pulling over at the nearest gas station.  We took a breather, David got in the driver's seat and 7 hours later (which typically is 4) we were there.

We had "foil dinners" and smores for dessert.

The next day we drove along the Oregon Coast and spotted a whale at our first stop.

Found the perfect log for family pics.

We walked along the waterfront and stopped for lunch and had clam chowder.

Then we hit one more beach in Newport where the boys built a dam in the sand and climbed on really high cliffs (the wives walked away so we didn't have to watch them fall to their deaths).

Apparently in Oregon you can't remove sea life from its habitat, whoops!  We put it right back after we got some nasty looks.

After a long day playing on the coast we headed back to the campsite.
Cooked up some popcorn after Robyn made an awesome fire.

We woke up to rain so we broke camp early and headed home.
Only took us 5 hours and 4 bathroom breaks.

Thanks Oregon Shepro's for a great weekend!

  1. That last picture of David looks so much like Andrew...I had to do a double take!
